Missions
Jilingu Village Development Project
I travelled with Dave Rock , Will Zillmann , Glen Hurt and Steve Salisbury in Sept/Oct 2008 to Tanzania for the purpose of Mission and Aid . We walked the dusty earth where the Education Centre is being built.
The Leadership has recently given me the nod to continue what has already been started . Foundations have been laid for the Education Centre .We as a church are committing to raise the required funds for building the” Building of Hope”. See the website where all the photos and stories of that trip are stored.
In the coming weeks and months I will continue to update you on this very worthy cause. I am excited to think what this one building will do for one and maybe more communities. More to come on that one!!
If you have any ideas in regards to how we fulfil this amazing opportunity to bless our brothers and sisters in Jilingu I would be greatly encouraged.
Blessings, Wes.
Here is information From Masanja Ngweso.
Masanja is an Elder in the village when he returns to Tanzania each year from Australia. He commanded much respect, love and caring from all we saw in Jilingu.
Name of the Project:
JILINGU VILLAGE DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (JVDC)
Project Profile:
The Jilingu Village Development Centre (JVDC) belongs to Jilingu Village, initiated by the people of that village working hand in hand with their local government leaders, and Church leaders who work in that area. A meeting of these community leaders was convened which accepted the suggested name “Jilingu Village Development Centre” (JVDC). Initially the target is to put up a Vocation Training School, which will deliver vocational and trade skills to the youths of that village. But now all neighbouring villages have their eyes on this Centre, and have already indicated their interest in bringing their children to have some training too.
